You’ll photograph the rugged seascapes of Brittany (practically unknown in the US), experience the Hallerbos forest in Belgium during its annual bluebell bloom, visit Monet’s garden, and the town where Paul Gauguin painted for a taste of impressionist and post-impressionist beauty. Then travel along the French sea cliffs and lighthouses among rugged granite coasts, see the Mont Saint Michel Abbey, and explore some of the most magical castles of France. Sun, April 17: Arrive Brussels
Individual arrival in Brussels, Belgium (BRU) Take a short cab ride to the Hotel. Overnight Brussels
Mon, April 18: Brussels
Full Day Forest with Blue Bells. From our Motel we are very close to the famous forest. We spend today photographing the blue bells and the stunning hard wood forest. Overnight Brussels
Tue, April 19: Brussels - Giverny, France
From Brussels we drive to France where we stay near the Garden of Monet. We will explore the town of Vernon with the old mill and other charmin places along the Seine river. (4 H) Overnight Giverny.
Wed, April 20: Giverny - Etretat
Morning visit and photography at Monet‘s garden. Afternoon drive to the coast of Normandy. Photography of the spectacular sea arch and cliffs on the English channel. (2 H) Overnight Etretat.
Thu, April 21: Etretat – Mont Saint-Michel
Today we follow the coast with a visit of the charming town of Honfleur and travel on to Mont Saint-Michel the famed Monastery. (3 H) Overnight near Mont Saint-Michel.
Fri, April 22: Mont Saint-Michel – Cap Frehel
We journey on through the pastoral landscapes of springtime Normandy with its blooming apple trees to the medieval streets of Dinan and on to Cap Frehel with its stunning sea cliffs and lighthouse. (1.5H) Overnight near Cap Frehel.
Sat, April 23: Cap Frehel – Ploumanach Lighthouse
We pass the lonely house of Maison de Site in Le Gouffre en route to Phare de Men Ruz, Ploumanach. Red granite boulders litter the coast here at the picturesque lighthouse. Sunset photo session at lighthouse.(2 H) Overnight near Lighthouse.
Sun, April 24: Ploumanach – Pont Aven
Our journey takes us through the land of Morgaine Le Fay and the magical forest of Huelgoat while we travel on to to Pont Aven the picturesque town where Gauguin lived. (2.5H)Overnight Pont Aven.
Mon, April 25: Pont Aven - Presqu'île de Quiberon
Visit of Maison Marie Henry; Le Pouldu en route to Presqu'île de Quiberon with Rock Arch. Another day of stunning coastal landscapes and a sea arch on the Atlantic coast.(1 H) Overnight on Presqu'île de Quiberon
Tue, April 26: Presqu'île de Quiberon - Chateau de la Bretesche
We visit the beautyful old town of the city of Vannes on our way to the magical castle the Chateau de la Bretesche where we stay overnight. (2 H)
Wed, April 27: Chateau de la Bretesche
Chateau de la Bretesche. Another Day at the chateau with excursion in the region to the wetlands along the coast.
Thu, April 28: Chateau de la Bretesche - Saumur
We now travel to the heartland of France the famed Loire Valley with its many castles. Overnight at Saumur (2 H)
Fri, April 29: Saumur - Chambord
A day spent at one of Frances most famous castles Chateau Chambord (2 H) Overnight in Cheverny
Sat, April 30: Chambord - Paris
Heading back by way of Orleans to Paris. Overnight near the Airport. Optional evening flight home.
Sun, May 1: flight back home
Individual flight back home from Paris Airport (CDG)
